Just started taking salsa dance classes again with my buddy. Right now I am exercising every day (45 minutes of cardio) on my treadmill at home as well as taking yoga classes in the city.

How long have you been dancing salsa and what keeps you coming back for more?:
I only have been into it for the last year or so. My sister has been dancing it for many years and gives me the inside track of what is happening out there in the scene.
In addition to learning salsa, what else have you gained from the experience?:
Learning to dance with a bunch of different partners and you have to gauge your response to his leads.
What are the salsa No-No's when dancing with a partner?:
GUYS: Please don't snap and lecture your female partner on the moves. You are not the dance instructor. It is insulting and we are learning this to have some FUN!!!
If you could improve upon one thing in the New York Salsa scene, what would it be?:
Stop with e snobby cliques and the competition!!!
What advice would you give someone just starting out in salsa?:
Find a good school that takes it REAL SLOW and thoroughly go over the open shines and turn patterns. Some schools are setup for advanced dancers. Oh yeah and PRACTICE, PRACTICE and PRACTICE some more!!!
