go to bed at dawn
What is your signature dance move or characteristic you are known for on the dance floor?:
Elegance, fun (that's what I've been told -- I'm far too critical to say those things about myself)
Role in salsa community:
Member of Dance Team

Salsa-licious:

What are the qualities of a good salsa dancer?:
Versatile, feels the music, plays with the music, athletic abilities, always wants to learn
Salsa dancing is best:
at a social
The best salsa dancing is when:
you and your partner click, play, and just let the music take you to new places
I feel in love with:
the dance itself
Salsa dancing is best with:
a stranger in a foreign land, whose language you do not speak

Salsa Views:

Why Salsa?:
Why breathe?
How long have you been dancing salsa and what keeps you coming back for more?:
It's part of my culture so I've been dancing it since I was little. The music and the musicality of the dance and the instruments keeps me hooked.
In addition to learning salsa, what else have you gained from the experience?:
Appreciation of other dances, worldwide travel and friends, and most importantly a worldwide community -- I'm welcome everywhere I go -- especially when they hear someone is from New York.
My most embarrassing salsa moment was:
I can't think of anything super embarassing -- just the usual: maybe tripping once in a while, having someone hit you or you hit them, being turned down
What are the salsa No-No's when dancing with a partner?:
When someone tries to give you a lesson, frowning, not looking and protecting your partner -- that's the worse
If you could improve upon one thing in the New York Salsa scene, what would it be?:
Reinspire the old-time wonders to come out more often and dance. Reinspire and reinvigorate -- don't rest on our laurels, thinking people are going to come to NY because of the well-established reputation we've gotten worldwide, people are learning what we have given them and taken salsa to new levels, we need to keep it alive and keep evolving while staying true to our FLAVA!
What advice would you give someone just starting out in salsa?:
Just keep going, be consistent, pay attention to detail, helpful to learn Spanish, keep humble, learn other dances, and have fun!
